We are sorry to announce the death of Tony Cooper, who passed away, aged 84, at home this morning.

Tony was a loyal supporter of the club for many years who became involved in all aspects of life at Waterloo including a fondly remembered trip to Twickenham in 1977 with his then 10 year old son, Andrew. He was also a long serving treasurer of the club, spanning the change from amateur to professional rugby and was a former director and secretary of Waterloo Leisure Holdings Ltd.

Whilst treasurer, he was renowned for his tight control of the purse strings but was greatly respected for the enthusiastic way he interacted with members and players. Tony loved spending time at Waterloo and will be remembered for the many years service he gave to the club, which formed a big part of his and his family's life.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Marie, children Andrew and Helen and grandchildren Imogen, Matthew and Isaac.
