Hello and welcome to a belated and slightly truncated run through of the upcoming weekend, where again we have a feast of Saturday, and some tempting Sunday, rugby to look forward to after the early season break.
Saturday brings another double header, the forecasted weather indicates that it might be a "Super wet and windy Saturday" and an early season test of player and spectator fortitude, but the prospect of top class competition first between the Ladies and Gloucester Hartpury Women and then the Men renewing old acquaintances with Broughton Park should be well worth showing that strength of character.
The Women's game is scheduled to kick off at 12.30 and the Men 3.15. Both teams are looking to return to winning ways and Giles and Stuart would really appreciate a continuation of the support that you have been good enough to show to date for their teams.
Also at 2.30 at St Mary's College Playing Fields the Women's Development Squad take on the Gloucester Hartpury Development Squad. In the Men's section the Seconds, after a very close victory at Stockport in the cup last week, travel for a top of the table clash against Blackburn and the MGM visit our old friends Widnes.
On Sunday the Junior Colts hope to be back in action against Warrington, these two unbeaten teams will kick off at 12.30 at the Memorial Ground. Elsewhere earlier Sunday morning at home the Under 16's entertain Fylde and the Under 13's Liverpool Collegiate, while the under 10's attend the Sedburgh Festival with the Under 11's and 12's at Manchester, with a second under 11 team at Wigan and the Under 14's travelling to Liverpool Collegiate.
I wish all teams and those supporting them the very best of luck this weekend.
Elsewhere I am sure that you are booking tickets for 2nd November and the annual fireworks display. I would ask, on behalf of Paul McManus, if not intending to attend for the fireworks display itself with friends and family and if you are free on the evening whether you would be able to help marshal the event. It takes a lot to put these events on from organising parking to helping people enjoy the evening safely and any help for our Club with this evening would be appreciated.
If you can help with this and generally if you have suggestions as to anything we can look to do that would improve your experience at our Club please contact me on 07738766399 or Paul on our Club number 0151 924 4552 on weekdays.
Have a great weekend.
